What is Mobile Broadband?
Mobile Broadband gives you internet access, without wires, over the air. You do not need a telephone line, or to be in a Wi-Fi area to get mobile broadband - using only a USB Modem with your Laptop or PC you can have access to fast broadband.
Is Mobile Broadband available everywhere?
Some Mobile broadband providers will say that if you can get a mobile phone signal, then you can get mobile broadband. In our experince this has not been the case - in remote areas where the signal is weak, you may not be able to get online. Having said that, it is thought that over 85% of the UK population are now within a 3G mobile broadband network - meaning that they can theoretically access the interent at speeds of up to 7.2Mbs per second.
Do I need a landline to get mobile broadband?
No you do not - infact, the emergence of mobile broadband is likely to have a negative impact on the maket for landline services. Years ago, everyone needed a landline to make phonecalls, then came along the mobile phone and people started thinking - hey, I dont need a landline now, I can just use my mobile to make and recieve calls. And that was all fine until broadband came along and people needed to have a landline just to get their broadband. So now that mobile broadband has finally arrived, consumers no longer need a landline for either their phonecalls or their internet access.

Is mobile broadband just another term for wifi?
No, it’s much, much more than that. It’s fully mobile internet access - whether you are in your own home, your car, on the bus or at a cafe. You don’t need a landline and you don’t need a WiFi hotspot… in fact, it has nothing to do with WiFi whatsoever.
